Renovations, of any condominium, provide the opportunity to personalize and upscale the space of your home. We, here at Well Balanced Designs, offer insight and design ideas so that a modern, clean and spacious feel to your home is captured in the renovation process.
One of the most common areas that need updating and renovating is found in the kitchen. The place where the family gathers, gourmet meals are created, and conversations shared. With the design and build of your new kitchen, we can tailor it to match your needs.
One of the key starting points in any kitchen renovation is with the appliances. We ensure the space is utilized efficiently and effectively by selecting appliances that meet your vision.
Well Balanced Designs offers quality workmanship and emits the high-end style everyone is looking for. From style of cabinetry, extra shelving for all those cookbooks, to a beautiful handmade wine rack that can be built and recessed into the counterspace to help maximize space, these are all key design elements that we can bring to life. We also provide a stunning focal point for your guests to enjoy and, let’s face it, perhaps be a bit envious about!
Create impact on the overall flow and design of the unit by selecting a single, cohesive flooring material. Well Balanced Designs will help make your decisions easier when viewing the selections and styles. If done correctly, the flooring will add to the open concept design and provide that ‘wow’ factor that we are all looking for.
And now to the not so fun but necessary part of this blog … the complications and unique challenges that renovating a condominium brings!
As condominiums are part of a multi-unit building, they have their own set of rules and regulations in place so that noise and inconvenience to your neighbours are minimized. This means, knowing ahead of the renovations, what these rules are. It could range from:
- Specific days and times that the renovations can occur
- Elevator access
- Materials used may be regulated
- Window coverings may also be regulated so that the aesthetics of the condominium exterior are followed
By following the rules and regulations set out by your boards’ members, our aim is to be as unobtrusive as possible while getting the renovations completed in a timely manner.
City Permits need to also be taken into consideration. Generally speaking, a building inspector will perform an inspection of the premises making sure that code requirements are met and that the proposed renovations will meet city bylaws. We are able to navigate this often complex and time-consuming process of dealing with City Hall and Strata board members due to our experience in renovating Vancouver City condominiums. Extensive planning and coordination is executed by us to bring the project in on time and on budget.
Renovating your condominium can be an exciting experience and will not only increase the value of your home, but it will also lead to a more pleasurable living experience for you.
