The demand for Design Build commercial construction in Vancouver is going strong. This is understandable as not only is the commercial industry growing as our population expands, there is also the fact that commercial renovations last on average about 10 years. With the need to update HVAC systems, Lighting and Layout to ensure buildings remain up to code, and the desire to practise energy efficiency, renovations to your existing commercial space are key to keep up-to-date with your clients’ needs and expectations, and your ever-advancing industry and range of products offered on today’s markets.
From the start of a project, we work with the clients and manage all commercial construction elements from start to finish. From creating a fresh new look to the exterior and interior of the building and establishing a realistic budget, ensuring permits and codes are obtained and met – Well Balanced Designs are the renovation experts who can make your commercial space stand apart from the rest and ensure an efficient work space for all.
We begin by determining the scope of the project and let the design work with, not against, the existing structure. By unifying the design build process and keeping the lines of communication open with our clients, the renovation experience of your office is effortless and seamless. Updates to the interior finishes, re-working of a floor plan to create additional space or adapting spaces to accommodate new equipment is the way to ensure your business stays relevant in your industry.
We have just completed an interior renovation to a floor of offices for a law firm in downtown Vancouver that we had originally built 20 years ago. We designed a new layout in some areas and changed all the finishes in the rest. This work was completed using an evening shift to ensure the office was able to continue to operate through the day. The project went seamlessly and it is ready for another 20 years.
And while all of our design build projects are special, we are currently undertaking a commercial renovation project that will remain uniquely ours. Remember the iconic building located at Oak and 16th on the West Side of Vancouver. You know, the blue, yellow and white building with the curved exterior. It’s a tough one to forget and has been sitting empty for years. Well, if you’ve driven past the area lately, you’ll have noticed the transformation that is occurring. Keeping the curved exterior, but losing those blues, whites and yellows were just the start of the renovation phase.
